Light simulation.

Another important factor is the implementation of a realistic illumination model. This is based either on actual material measuring data or on HDRI (high dynamic range) images. These digital photographs hold all the information of the environmental illumination for the specific surroundings in which the rendered object is to be placed. The necessary top quality HDRI images are usually supplied by the photographers themselves who also have their own state-of-the-art equipment. Of course we are happy to recommend reputable HDRI experts if need.
